The trading company SC FILES UNIVERTIS SRL from ROMANIA (Macin city - Tulcea county) is specialized in breeding and harvesting of medical leeches (Hirudo medicinalis).

With an activity and experience of 15 years in this field - is accredited and authorized by the following responsible Romanian authorities: Romanian Academy, Danube Delta Biosphere Reservation, The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority.

Our company operates in Eastern Europe-Romania in the Danube Delta area and every pre-season, depend on the demand, we work out research and yield studies as the amonts to be harvested without destroying the ecosystem.

Abous hirudo medicinalis

For most of us leeches are these scary little worms that suck our blood and the only real exposure we may have had to them is throgh movies or stories.

But we might have been wrong to be terrified of these little wampires worms. Leeches may not have deserved that bad treatment after all.

A study published in the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences found that leech saliva actually has many useful bioactive peptides and these can be used to treat conditions like infectious disease, cancer, cardiovascular conditions.

But you d,ont have to have a severed limb or infectious disease to get the benefits of leeches.

A lot of naturopaths, accupuncturists and medicine doctors are now using leeches in their therapy to help : detoxify blood,reduce blood presure also he can regulate anemia.

Leeches have also been used by surgeons to help reattach severed body parts.

Ancient physicians in Egypt (4000-5000 years ago,) used leeches to cure anything from fevers to farting...(to help treat various health conditions). So before there were antibiotics to treat infections, the leeches was actually the preferred medicine for ancient physicians.
